The focus of this type of genre is more reliant on authenticity, observation and emotional truth meaning that representation in these genre isn't about what happens rather it is how lived experience is framed.

1. Characters are normal, not symbolic
2. Characters are allowed to be boring, contradictory, kind, shy, or funny
3. No one pauses to explain traditions or habits to the camera
4. Language, Food, routines just exist
